We are looking for:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Office Manager has the responsibility of providing efficient, effective, and productive office support to site leadership and personnel to achieve business goals, including safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ).

We count on you for:

  • Answer telephones and front gate monitor to allow plant access, and check-in visitors.
  • Placing SAP office supply orders and receiving good receipts in SAP.
  • Approve hourly employee and temp time cards and ensure proper times are accurate.
  • Monitor and maintain all office breakroom equipment and office supply inventory.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with security, janitors, and gardeners.
  • Work with leadership on the reviewing of resumes for potential candidates.
  • Work closely with HR for the onboarding of new employees.
  • Initiate onboarding checklist with new personnel and supply them with security keycards.
  • Request emails, cell phones, and computers for new employees.
  • Maintain gate keys for the security of employees.
  • Distribute steel toe shoe vouchers to ensure safety requirements for on-site personnel.
  • Order prescription safety glasses for employees.
  • Responsible for all site uniform ordering and repairs.
  • Work with IT to ensure desktop computers work properly.
  • Receive and sign for small courier FedEx packages.
  • Regional HSE Manager backup for first aid incidents requiring outside medical attention.
  • Active participant in meetings for special events, safety committee, and site steering committee to develop guidelines.
  • Organize company functions and develop email communication reminders on company policies for personnel to follow.
  • Work with HR and temp agencies to process paperwork for personnel wage increases.
  • Assist supervisors to distribute long-term and short-term disability information for HR.
  • Maintain employee files.

You will bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with Google Email, Sheets, Meet, and Drive is highly preferred.
  • Two years of SAP experience in a chemical/manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with approving Kronos timecards is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to work with all types of on-site and off-site personnel from management, leadership, laboratory, warehouse, operations, maintenance, visitors, contractors, truck drivers, delivery vendors, etc.
  • Understand the different processes within the plant to direct incoming visitors and contractor to their appropriate Solvay staff.
  • Good writing and verbal skills.
  • Must be able to write clearly and concisely.
  • Must have basic mathematical skills.
  • Approve hourly employee time cards in Kronos and ensure proper times are accurate.
  • Approve temporary service time cards and ensure proper times are accurate.
  • Must read and understand written procedures (SOPs) and/or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a group/team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with occasional assistance.
  • Ability to learn new programs and software as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and change assignments quickly.
  • Ability to communicate information with others verbally and in written form.
  • Good organizational skills to handle multiple tasks daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond the normal work schedule on short notice.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $$59,560 to $92,021 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
