The Raw Material Planner role is responsible for the near term coordination and preparation
of supply, demand, and inventory plans for all specified materials raw materials and
intermediates.

Procurement
• Responsible for issuing purchase orders to suppliers and managing all specified materials. This includes managing priorities, inventory and resolving conflicts.
• Key day to day point of contact with specified suppliers
• Responsible for developing near term supplier forecasts for specific site and coordinating with other sister sites
• Support site personnel in resolution of problems with specified material suppliers, elevating to higher levels within the global procurement group
• Generate cost savings, cost avoidance and product improvement efforts where possible
• Point of contact with specified material suppliers to coordinate raw material qualifications
Managing Inventory
• Optimize manufacturing and customer service as it relates to specified materials (balance between manufacturing cost and inventory carrying cost)
• Analyze risks associated with inventory and define alternatives / recommendations
• Utilize inventory tools to manage specified materials inventory
• Weekly analysis of specified manufactured and purchased materials & end of month inventory valuation for SMOG analysis. Identify internal product cross-
references and opportunities for SMOG/scrap sales/ inventory transfer to other sites.
• Coordinate production order adjustments or purchase order modification to maximize inventory usage
• Conduct forecast review for planned production and purchase orders
Key Measurements for this Position (over the next 12 months):
• Acquire product and process knowledge
• Implement, expand, sustain monthly specified materials supply / demand plan
• Standardization of specified material management activities – including formalized business process development
• Establish relationships with suppliers
• Demonstrate the ability to quickly assess any constraint situation and apply what-if scenario planning using the commercial upside / risk demand numbers
• Establish supplier OT/OQ measurements through effective use of vendor rating tools and supplier feedback meetings
• Improve cost position through improved planning (reducing expedites), managing specified material inventories within target levels and negotiating any one time

• Self-motivated and capable of understanding manufacturing processes and the interdependencies while continuously improving one's own business practices
Metrics include:
• Actual versus planned lead times
• Achieve monthly inventory target
• Number of stock outs
• Number of schedule changes in fixed week plan due to raw material constraints
Requirements:
• SAP and Excel knowledge desired
• Must have a completed BS Degree
• Ideally 5-7 years of experience but will consider candidate with 2-3 years if they have a Supply Chain Management Degree or APICS certification
• Business aware – capable of assimilating a lot of information and of making informed decisions under pressure
• Consistent, pro-active, high energy level and able to work on own initiative
• Highly developed problem solving skills and critical thinking
• Excellent analytical and communication skills in order to ensure efficient communication exchange with all departments at all levels and suppliers.
Demonstrated ability to influence others
• Capable of understanding manufacturing processes and their interdependencies
• Ability to see bigger picture, yet good attention to detail
You will get:

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $78,800.00 to $102,000.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
