We are looking for:

  • The Customer Technical Development (CTD) engineer within Syensqo GBU Specialty polymer is designed to provide strong technical expertise and value to our customers by leveraging specialty polymer portfolios, resources, and know-how of the GBU.

  • The CTD is to provide professional and timely technical expertise to customers, to collaborate with commercial team to grow existing business, develop new projects, bring the company’s solutions to the transportation market and generate tech knowledge, especially in the auto-electrification area.

We count on you for:

  • To provide technical support and development about Specialty polymer products and solutions for auto related units and parts in the transportation especially E-mobility value chain (including material selection, application development, on-site trials, process optimization, troubleshooting, productivity improvement, etc).

  • Define priority and coordinate resources to meet GC customer needs and ensure customers to have smooth production and resolve the complaints timely.

  • Track / communicate / report the status of the development products situation. Work closely with the Global CTD community, ADL, and R&I teams, to develop and implement solutions for customer applications.

  • Provide technical marketing activities to the sales team for marketing documents, marketing programs, trade shows, seminars, etc.

  • Provide market intelligence / development trend for global new product development and product optimization. Share your expertise with the whole CTD team, support to build up one total-solution team.

  • Understand the OEM spec and act as a technical bridge between Syensqo and OEMs.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor or Master or Ph. D Degree in Polymer Science or Tooling Design.

  • 10 to 20 years’ experience in the plastics area, including application development, material selection, part design review, tooling design review, molding trial, troubleshooting and productivity improvement etc.

  • Strong hands-on experience in plastics, better in specialty polymers (e.g. PPS, PPA, PEEK, PAI, LCP, PARA etc), good knowledge on processing and related equipment, as well as trouble shooting capability.

  • Experienced in polymer melt processing technologies: injection molding, extrusion, compression molding and others.

  • Understand the materials, equipments, consumables, technical requirements and certification process for the E-mobility industry.

  • Able to travel within China frequently.

  • Able to work and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Be open, self-confident and with great teamwork spirit.

  • Strong desire for success, self-motivation, proactively looking for new challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Fluent in Chinese and English (mandatory) to be able to communicate in both languages locally and globally.

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, technical-oriented.

  • Project management.
