IT - FinOps Engineer

We are looking for:
A FinOps Engineer is part of the platform engineering team with combined technical and financial skills. Primarily responsible for analysing costs and ability to drive optimal use of cloud resources by reducing unnecessary cloud spend. As a FinOp Engineer, you must be able to provide insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision making.
We count on you for:
Strong analytical skills to analyse the cloud components used and ability to suggest cost optimization on rightsizing
Design and implement FinOps best practices to optimize cloud resource allocation, for example: rightsizing, autoscaling, reserved instances, savings plans, spot instances
Focused and cost efficiency mindset to reduce waste
Work closely with finance teams to improve budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Automate cost monitoring, anomaly detection, and alerting to prevent budget overruns
Integrate FinOps automation into CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) pipelines
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of FinOps governances, best practice and activities and share knowledge with team members
Close collaboration with various stakeholders across the IT organization to ensure cloud governance is well applied
Keep up-to-date with new AWS/Azure/GCP services, features and best practices, providing recommendations for process and architecture improvements
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications would be a plus.
Minimum of 7-15 years of experience in FinOps engineering, cloud engineering, cloud architecture or infrastructure role
Proven experience with multi-cloud environments and services
Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting
Hands-on experience on data analysis tools and techniques to interpret spending data
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
