Technical Application Specialist (F/M/X)

We are looking for: 

  • The Mining Account Manager provides on-site technical support and is essential to sustain circuit stability, recovery, reagent performance, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction 

  • Provides critical capability to diagnose and resolve operational issues across leaching, clarification, SX, stripping and electrowinning, to run audits and trials, and to deliver clear action plans and training that protect existing revenue and prevent product displacement. 

 

We count on you for: 

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to new and existing customers in copper hydrometallurgy and solvent extraction operations. 

  • Support hydrometallurgical copper production circuits, including leaching, clarification, solvent extraction, stripping, electrowinning and associated reagent systems. 

  • Analyze plant and laboratory data, identify performance gaps and recommend practical actions to improve SX-EW stability, recovery, phase separation, reagent performance, impurity control and overall process efficiency. 

  • Conduct chemical and physical audits of solvent extraction units at mine/customer sites, with particular attention to safety, reagent handling, plant operating practices and customer priorities. 

  • Coordinate and execute laboratory, bench-scale and field test work to identify appropriate Syensqo applications and support product selection or troubleshooting. 

  • Prepare clear technical reports, presentations and action plans for customers, Syensqo technical teams and commercial stakeholders. 

  • Train customer teams on product use, process fundamentals, safety practices and performance improvement opportunities, including training delivered in Mandarin Chinese when required. 

  • Support commercial teams in the introduction, qualification and adoption of new and existing chemistries for the mining industry. 

  • Translate customer needs into technical recommendations and help identify unmet needs, innovation opportunities and continuous improvement projects. 

  • Collaborate with China-based stakeholders, including customer headquarters, engineering contacts, procurement or technical teams, as required. 

  • Maintain strict compliance with safety, health and environment (SHE), quality, customer, site and regulatory requirements. 

 

Core conditions of the role 

  • Primary work location : Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), supporting mining customers and regional solvent extraction operations. 

  • The role is highly field-based. The successful candidate must be willing to spend most working time in the DRC and to complete extended assignments at mine/customer sites. 

  • On-site residence may be required in company/customer-approved accommodation at or near a Chinese-owned mining operation during DRC assignments. 

  • Periodic work in China is expected for technical alignment, customer interface, training, product qualification and coordination with China-based stakeholders. 

  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English and strong copper hydrometallurgy/SX-EW knowledge are mandatory.
