Brian Belanger

Brian Belanger serves as the General Counsel at Syensqo, a position he has held since June 2025.

Prior to joining Syensqo, Brian was with Husqvarna Group in Stockholm, Sweden, where he served as General Counsel from 2015 to 2025. Before that, he was the Vice President for Legal Affairs responsible for all legal matters in the APAC region at Husqvarna from 2009 to 2015. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in developing the Global Legal Function, which encompassed Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, IP, and Corporate Governance functions. He also expanded his responsibilities to include Group M&A and Corporate Venture Capital sub-functions, and spearheaded continuous improvement initiatives, including the implementation of a Legal Operations function and AI-driven tech tools.

His early career includes a judicial clerkship at the US Federal Courts in Washington, D.C., and M&A and related transactional work at various law firms. 

Brian holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law from Duke University School of Law.

Brian has extensive international experience (U.S., Germany, China, Malaysia, Sweden and Belgium) and has a passion for foreign languages. He is also an amateur musician (guitar, mandolin, bass and fiddle) and craftsman (in wood, metal and leather goods).
