The Bagatelle solar farm is a unique energy transition project developed in the Nièvre region of France
ENERTRAG France and Syensqo are proud to announce the opening of the Bagatelle solar farm, a pioneering project in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. This project combines the redevelopment of a former industrial site with the establishment of a solar farm that will generate renewable energy to support the local energy transition.
The Bagatelle solar farm covers 25 hectares, which is the equivalent of 35 soccer fields, and has an installed capacity of 17.9 MWp. It is estimated that the farm will produce 18.4 GWh annually, which is enough to power 4,080 homes a year. In addition, the facility will contribute to a reduction of almost 3,800 metric tons of CO₂ each year1, marking real progress for the energy transition. Part of the electricity produced, totalling 1 GWh, will be used by the Syensqo plant, contributing to the decarbonization of the plant’s industrial activity.
The Bagatelle solar power plant represents a new benchmark for ENERTRAG in the development and operation of renewable energies, as well as in accelerating the decarbonization of our energy production and consumption methods. We are proud to contribute to a concrete, local, and sustainable energy transition, serving a more resilient and controllable energy grid.
We are particularly proud of this project. It is a key part of our Syensqo One Planet program and serves dual purposes: enabling the decarbonization of our activities and supporting the redevelopment of part of our site, both of which contribute to greater operational efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and positive impact for the local community.
ENERTRAG has voluntarily implemented a series of concrete measures to encourage biodiversity, which go well beyond regulatory requirements. These include the construction of bat shelters, the creation of refuges for protected amphibians and reptiles, the ecological management of two hectares of Japanese knotweed, deadwood and pollarded trees, as well as the installation of wildlife passages in the fencing. Biodiversity in the area will be scientifically monitored for 30 years.
The solar farm will be opened on Wednesday June 11, 2025, in the presence of local elected officials, representatives of Syensqo and ENERTRAG teams.
The project benefited from € 1,625,700 in participatory financing, raised from 481 citizen investors via the Lendosphere and Lendopolis platforms, offering a yield of 7%.
