New high-temperature FFKM NFS grades reinforcing commitment to performance and sustainability
Syensqo, a global leader in advanced performance materials and chemical solutions, announces the expansion of its pioneering Non-Fluorosurfactant (NFS) perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) portfolio with new high-temperature grades. These innovative materials are engineered to deliver exceptional sealing performance in the most demanding environments, while supporting the industry’s transition to more sustainable solutions.
Building on its legacy of scientific exploration, Syensqo’s latest NFS FFKM grades offer continuous operating temperatures up to 320°C, surpassing the capabilities of conventional FFKMs. With a newly developed curative that’s designed to withstand extreme heat, these grades deliver unmatched purity and reliability at high temperatures without the need for particle-causing fillers.
The new high-temperature NFS FFKM grades are designed for high purity, high temperature vacuum applications, exhibiting excellent resistance to fluorine, oxygen, and hydrogen plasmas. Their low stiction and high reliability make them particularly well-suited for gate and isolation valve applications, reducing maintenance and downtime for customers.
The introduction of our new high temperature NFS FFKM resin represents Syensqo's biggest leap in elastomer technical capabilities in nearly a decade. By enabling new, higher temperature processes and decreasing downtime for mature processes, Syensqo continues to bring innovation and value to our customers, while also prioritizing advancements in sustainability.
Manufactured in Spinetta, Italy, Syensqo’s new NFS FFKM portfolio is the result of a multi-year research effort dedicated to advancing both performance and environmental responsibility. The first high temperature product, Tecnoflon® PFR X6965M, is now available for sampling. In addition, nitrile curable grades, Tecnoflon® PFR X6055B, X6160B and X6265B, are available commercially and already in use across the semiconductor industry. The peroxide curable grades, Tecnoflon® PFR X7000 and X7100 are also available for trial.

Moving away from Fluorosurfactants
At Syensqo, we are proud to produce a vast majority of our fluoropolymers – materials that are essential for electric vehicle batteries, hybrid engines, hydrogen applications, renewable energy installations, semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, and more – without the use of fluorosurfactants. Guided by our sustainability roadmap, we quadrupled our investment in R&I since 2019 to invent a new polymerization process using our non-fluorosurfactant technologies.
