Collaboration showcases the role of circular polymers in advancing sustainable bike design

Syensqo, a global leader in high-performance materials, and woom, the innovative manufacturer of premium children’s and teen’s bikes, announce a strategic partnership to introduce Syensqo’s Omnix® 1030 ECHO RPRF circular polymer in the new woom WOW bike series. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the transition to more circular, high-performance materials for the leisure goods industry, with Syensqo’s materials used in key visible structural components including the front fork, back fork, and handlebar of woom’s latest models.

The woom WOW is a self-balancing bike designed for children aged 9 to 36 months, helping them develop balance and motor skills through an intuitive, stabilizing design. Made in Europe, it combines a lightweight, premium look with more sustainable materials, including Syensqo’s Omnix® 1030 ECHO RPRF. This circular polymer contains 98% recycled content and can reduce the product’s carbon footprint by up to 72% compared to conventional materials, while still delivering the strength, durability and quality needed for everyday use.

Our collaboration with woom demonstrates how Syensqo’s broad portfolio, and technical expertise, can help customers replace traditional metals and engineering plastics with innovative, eco-friendly solutions in e-bike and bike manufacturing. The introduction of Omnix® 1030 ECHO RPRF represents a breakthrough for the industry, underscoring  Syensqo’s leadership and ambition, as  a key raw material supplier driving the future of bicycle and e-bike innovation.

woom is an international manufacturer of bikes for children and teenagers with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The company was founded in 2013 by two bike-loving dads, Christian Bezdeka and Marcus Ihlenfeld, in a garage in Vienna. After searching the market in vain for suitable bikes for their own children, they decided to develop and build their own. With their light weight, timeless design, high-quality components and child-specific geometry, woom bikes set new standards for premium children's bikes. In just a few years, woom went from a little-known brand to the market leader in Austria. Since then, woom has made a name for itself around the world. In more than 40 countries – including the USA, the Middle East and China – you'll now find kids and teens riding woom bikes.
