Position Overview:  We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented in-house lawyer to join our legal team in Italy. Reporting to the Senior Counsel - Italy, the successful candidate will provide legal support across various departments, ensuring compliance with local and international laws, managing risk, and contributing to Syensqo’s overall performance.  The selected candidate will also spend up to 50% of the time supporting Syensqo’s broader EMEA legal and compliance function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of sales, procurement, tolling, nondisclosure, and other contracts and agreements.
  • Deliver timely support to HR, manufacturing, sales, procurement, and research functions.
  • Provide legal advice and support on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support the broader legal team in managing litigation and dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support legal compliance in all business operations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Italian degree in law from a recognized university; a Master’s degree (LL.M) is a plus.
  • Admission to the Italian Bar (Avvocato) or eligibility to practice law in Italy.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within a corporate or in-house environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian corporate and commercial law.
  • Knowledge of Italian environmental law.  EU/international commercial contracts experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Italian and English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.
