Job Description — L2 AVD / Windows 365 Support Engineer (Infrastructure Workplace)
Location: Pune, India
Context
Within Infrastructure Workplace, this role provides Tier 2 operational support for Syensqo’s virtual desktop services based on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 Cloud PC, covering both hybrid identity and Microsoft Entra ID-only environments. The role ensures service stability, rapid restoration, and consistent user experience, with FSLogix as a mandatory core competency.
Key accountabilities
Service operations (L2)
- Restore service for L2 incidents/requests related to AVD and Windows 365 within agreed SLAs/OLAs.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting for:
- FSLogix (profiles/ODFC containers, performance, corruption/locking, permissions, storage latency).
- AVD connectivity/session issues, host pool/session host health, agent/bootloader problems, scaling plan impacts.
- Windows 365 provisioning and access issues; Cloud PC connectivity and policy/application impacts.
- End-user experience topics: app launch, logon slowness, printing/redirection, audio/video, Teams optimization basics.
Monitoring, stability & continuous improvement
- Use Azure diagnostics and monitoring (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics/KQL basics, AVD Insights, Event Viewer) to identify patterns and reduce repeat incidents.
- Execute standard operational changes/runbooks (host lifecycle tasks, capacity actions, support during image rollouts/patch windows).
- Contribute to knowledge management: KBs, runbooks, known errors, and operational checklists.
Collaboration & escalation
- Partner with Identity, Network, Security and Endpoint teams to resolve cross-domain issues (Conditional Access impact triage, DNS/routing/proxy, device policy).
- Escalate to L3 with complete evidence (timeline, impact, logs, KQL outputs, reproduction steps, interim mitigations).

Knowledge & experience (requirements)
- 2–5 years in EUC/VDI support with hands-on AVD and/or Windows 365 exposure.
- Mandatory: strong FSLogix troubleshooting and operational experience.
- Strong Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 Apps troubleshooting in virtualized environments.
- Working knowledge of Azure fundamentals (VMs, VNets, NSGs, DNS basics, storage basics).
- ITSM experience (incident/problem/change; ServiceNow or similar).
Good to have
- Nerdio knowledge (nice to have).
