Hervé Tiberghien

Hervé Tiberghien is Syensqo’s Chief Operations and People Officer (COPO). He has held the position of Chief Operations Officer since Syensqo was established in December 2023. He took on the additional responsibility of Chief People Officer in August 2024.

With a strong background in both HR and industrial operations, Hervé is passionate about connecting people, while also attracting and developing the best talent to drive sustainable innovation and further strengthen Syensqo's leading position and proximity to customers.

Prior to taking up his position at Syensqo, Hervé served as Chief People Officer and Member of the Executive Leadership Team at Solvay, from 2019 to 2023. At Solvay, he was responsible for building an inclusive culture across the organization, while also focusing on driving individual and organizational growth.

Before joining Solvay he was Chief HR Officer and Vice President of Human Resources at PPG's global headquarters in Pittsburgh, USA. He also held the roles Global Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Talent Officer, Head of Human Resources for the global industrial coatings business, and HR Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at PPG.

Before specializing in human resources, he was director of PPG's industrial coatings manufacturing site in France. He also worked for AGC Automotive Europe as the EMEA quality director and plant manager for its automotive glass manufacturing operations in Belgium.
 

A French national, Hervé Tiberghien holds a master's degree in Human Resources from HEC Saint-Louis in Brussels.  He also holds an MBA from the University of Lyon.

Hervé is as passionate at work as he is outside of work. He is a serious cyclist who likes to climb every mountain he can find.  He is also a resilient yogi. “The balance of intense physical activity and deep meditation helps me cope with the intense pressure of my work,” he says. 

Hervé was once a Board member of the Children Home of Pittsburgh. He has always been dedicated to supporting the cause of rare genetic diseases, which are often overlooked by the media and receive very little research funding or financial support.
