Dr. Cynthia Arnold

Dr. Cynthia Arnold, 69, has served as an Independent Director and Chair of the Talent and Remuneration Committee of Syensqo since July 2025. Dr. Arnold is a highly experienced technology executive who previously served as Chief Technology Officer of The Valspar Corporation, and as SVP, Industrial Technology, at Sherwin Williams, global paints and coatings companies, from 2011 to 2017. During her tenure, she led the global technology function across 8 business groups, with responsibility for technology strategy, project portfolio management, and global technology organizational development. Prior to her role at Valspar, she served as the Chief Technology Officer of Sun Chemical from 2004 to 2011. Before joining Sun Chemical, she served as Vice President, Technology, Coatings, Adhesives and Specialties at Eastman Chemical from 2003 to 2004, and in R&D and business leadership positions with General Electric from 1994 to 2003. Dr. Arnold was a Sloan Executive Science and Engineering Fellow in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy from 1992 to 1994. She has served on the Boards of Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) since January 2018 where she is a member of their ESG & Sustainability Committee; of Milliken & Co. since 2019 where she serves on the Audit and Finance Committees; and of Fluence Energy (NASDAQ: FLNC) since 2021 where she serves on the Nominations & Governance and Audit Committees and is Chair of the Compensation & Human Resources Committee. She also currently serves as a Board member of Citrine Informatics since 2019 and the Budapest Festival Orchestra since 2025.
