Martine Snels has been appointed by co-optation as an independent Director, and served as a Member of the Talent and Remuneration Committee and Member of the Audit and Risk Committee of Syensqo since April 1, 2026.
Martine Snels is an international business leader with over 30 years of experience in the ingredients, nutrition, food processing and industrial technology sectors. She began her career at the Belgian Farmers Federation (Belgische Boerenbond), before holding marketing and business development roles at Kemin Industries across Europe and Asia. She then joined Nutreco, where she held senior roles at Trouw Nutrition and led the acquired Selko feed additives and Sloten business. In 2012, she joined Royal FrieslandCampina, where she became Chief Operating Officer of the Ingredients division and a member of the Executive Committee, overseeing a €2bn global B2B business. From 2017 to 2020, she served as Executive Board Member of GEA Group, a German MDAX-listed engineering company, with responsibility for global commercial operations. She then also served as Non-Executive Director, member of the Audit and of the Remuneration Committees at Resilux NV (2019–2022), and as board member at Vion Food Group (2020–2022) and URUS Group (2020–2023). Since 2020, she is the founder of L’Advance, a Belgium-based advisory and coaching business. She currently serves as Non-Executive Director at Electrolux Professional (Chair of the Remuneration Committee), SIG Group (member of the Audit, Risk, Nomination & Governance and Integration Committees) and Prodrive Technologies. Through L’Advance, she also serves as Board advisor to Zentis GmbH & Co. KG, VIEGA GmbH & Co. KG and as an advisor to C.E.E. Climate Savvy Engineering for Energy Reduction.
