Next-generation acid mist suppressants
Sulfuric acid mist has long been an undesired byproduct of the copper electrowinning process. Formed when oxygen generated at the anode causes tiny droplets of acidic electrolyte to burst into the air, mist poses both health hazards and operational challenges. Traditional fluorocarbon-based mist suppressants are being phased out, requiring the development of new alternatives.
